Barry Gordemer

Barry Gordemer is an award-winning puppeteer, writer and producer. He's been designing, building and performing puppets since 1983. In 2003, Barry received a Telly award for his puppet designs and his performance as Alphie the Alligator on the DVD series, "The Sound and the Furry."
In 2000, Barry performed on the CD "Dreamosauraus." It received a Grammy nomination for "Best Musical Album for Kids."
Barry also is a sought-after lecturer for his puppet building techniques. He's been an instructor at the University of Maryland  and has conducted puppetry workshops across the country.
In his spare time, Barry is a veteran writer, producer and director for National Public Radio's award-winning news magazine, "Morning Edition." He's helped produce and direct coverage of two Persian Gulf wars, five presidential elections, and the September 11th terrorist attacks. He's also produced numerous profiles of actors, musicians and writers.

In 2000, Barry received special recognition from the George Foster Peabody Awards for his long-time service to "Morning Edition."
